Gertrude A. (O’Boyle) Given, 51, formerly of Pittston, died Saturday at
Valley
Crest Nursing Home, following an extended illnessBorn in Pittston, she was
the daughter of Mary A. (Flanagan) O’Boyle Hadley, of Avoca, and the late
Robert E. O’Boyle Jr.
She attended Pittston area schools and was a former member of Blessed
Sacrament Catholic Church, Hughestown.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. O’Boyle III; and
stepfather, Earl T. Hadley.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a sister, Joanne Finn, Liverpool,
N.Y.; one niece and one nephew; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Kniffen-O’Malley
Funeral Home Inc., 728 Main St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hawthorne Street, Avoca.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Help of Christian’s Cemetery, Pittston.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.—–
