MASLOW LUMIA BARTORILLO ADVERTISING: The advertising agency has announced the
addition of Clare Parkhurst as director of business development.
   

   
Parkhurst is a graduate of Wilkes University, where she received a
bachelor’s degree in political science and English.
   
She has worked with such companies as Clipper Magazine, Values Unlimited,
Advo System, the Times Leader and Community Buick.
   
Her responsibilities will include developing and executing strategic
marketing programs that target both business-to-business and consumer-oriented
accounts throughout the Northeast United States.
PENN STATE: The state Senate confirmed the gubernatorial appointment of
Robert A. Fortinsky to the Penn State University Board of Trustees.
   

   
Fortinsky graduated from the university in 1947 with a bachelor’s degree in
chemistry. He is president of Fortinsky Charitable Foundation and Fortune
Fabrics and is past chair of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Advisory Board. He
and his wife, Shirley, have created three endowed scholarships at Penn State
Wilkes-Barre and supported the Bell Atlantic Center for Technology by donating
a multimedia conference room.MERCY HEALTH PARTNERS: Dr. Robert A. Rostock has
been conferred fellowship status by the board of chancellors of the American
College of Radiation Oncology.
   

   
Rostock, a Pittston native, has practiced medicine for 20 years.
   
He returned to the area in 1985 after chief residency, teaching and
directorship oncology assignments at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
   
In 1985, he was named director of hyperthermia at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
He was appointed medical director of the Cancer Center of Wyoming Valley in
1987.
   
He has published 29 articles in professional journals, more than 20
abstracts and two books, and has made more than 15 presentations in national
academic settings.
