Sometimes life is pretty good for a red fox.Take a look at the first two photos from Bob Mercando, who encountered this red fox during a mild day last December at Frances Slocum State Park. Mercando said the fox came out of the woods where the main road and campground meet, and really wasn’t concerned about much. Mercando watched the canine for several minutes and even caught it sunning itself in the bright winter sun.
More recently, in Mountain Top last week, Tanner Allen captured these three photos of a red fox visiting his patio. Allen suspects the fox was looking for a handout from the grill, which is likely considering the young red likely worked up quite an appetite just to get through the long, cold winter. Still, judging by it’s thick coat and bushy tail, this fox made it through pretty well.
Capture anything interesting on your handheld or trail camera? A nice buck, bear, coyote or any other wildlife? We’d love to see it. Each week, we’ll run photos from a reader’s trail camera on the Sunday Outdoors page. Email your photo, along with date and area it was taken (township is fine), and any other details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
