Clifford L. Hawke, 80, of Trucksville, Kingston Township, died Monday at
his homeBorn in Kingston, he was the son of the late Leo and Ida Dietrick
Hawke.
A graduate of Forty Fort High School, he was a resident of Trucksville for
the past 56 years.
Before retiring in 1975, he was a trooper with the Pennsylvania State
Police for 36 years.
He was a member of the Frank Albert Memorial Lodge 43, Fraternal Order of
Police, Wyoming; George M. Dallas Lodge 531 F&AM; the Retired State Police
Association, Luzerne County Chapter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Miller Hawke, in 1992.
Surviving are sons, David C. and Timothy L., both of Vernon; a daughter,
Linda Cummings, Trucksville; five grandchildren; a brother, Leo, Syracuse,
N.Y.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Richard H. Disque
Funeral Home, 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. William D. Lewis,
pastor of the Forty Fort United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton, Franklin Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. today.
