The Keystone College Concerts and Lectures Series will welcome diversity expert Matt Glowacki for “Diversity According to Family Guy and South Park” on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. in the Theatre in Brooks.

Glowacki will examine how popular television programs often operate on the fringes of societal acceptance and have a more developed, logical, and inclusive view of our society. He will take a look at “Family Guy” and “South Park” and break down stereotypical attitudes and behavior among people.

Born in 1973 in Janesville, Wis., his birth drew attention because, while otherwise healthy, he was born without legs. His parents provided him with every opportunity to participate in a normal life and he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Glowacki enjoys competitive sports and earned a position on the USA Paralympic Team for sit-volleyball and competed internationally at the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney, Australia.

An entrepreneur, he created three businesses: MOGO Wheelchairs, Glow Music, and Myriad Communication. A resident of Sun Prairie, Wis., Glowacki is active in many local organizations, including the Easter Seals board of directors. He was selected by the governor of Wisconsin to serve on the Governor’s Rehabilitation Council which monitors and oversees the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. For more information on Glowacki’s lecture, contact Lucas Taylor at 570-945-8253 or lucas.taylor@keystone.edu.
