The University of Scranton women’s basketball team has excelled in a handful of areas through its first five games

It’s still early in the 2013-14 season, but The University of Scranton women’s basketball team has excelled in a handful of areas through its first five games, ranking among the leaders in NCAA Division III in four statistical categories.


The Lady Royals (3-2) are eighth in the nation in turnovers per game at just 12.8. Scranton is also 17th in free throw percentage at 77.0, 39th in assist-turnover ratio at 1.05, and 47th in turnover margin at plus-5.6.


The Lady Royals will play their home opener on Saturday, Dec. 14, when they host the Landmark Conference for Merchant Marine Academy at 4 p.m. in the Long Center.
