Mrs. Melba Thomas Grose, 80, of Pomona Street, Forty Fort, died on Monday at her home.
She was born in Forty Fort on Oct. 9, 1928, a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Hann Thomas. She was a graduate from Forty Fort High School and Wyoming Seminary School of Business.
Melba had resided in Dallas for a few years, but spent most of her life in Forty Fort. While she resided in Dallas, she and her husband had owned and operated Colonial Restaurant in Dallas. She had been employed as a secretary at the Forty Fort High School and later for the Forty Fort Borough.
She was a member of Forty Fort United Methodist Church for over 65 years. She had been a Sunday school teacher for over 55 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Amicitia class at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Grose, 1994; and a brother, George Thomas.
Surviving are her daughter, Amy Grose-Fugate, and her husband, Michael, Forty Fort; son Robert Grose, Forty Fort; brother Charles and his wife, Theresa Thomas, Forty Fort; granddaughter Sarah.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Gideon Gaitano, pastor of the New Life Community Church, Dallas. The interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Sweet Valley. Friends may call on Thursday, from 10 until service time.
