Keystone College’s field hockey team was honored March 18 as a recipient of the 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award for the second straight year.

The Giants are one of just 121 programs across the country, and one of six Colonial States Athletic Conference teams, to earn the award which recognizes programs that posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

Joining Keystone from the CSAC as recipients of the team award are Cabrini College, Cedar Crest College, Gwynedd Mercy University, Immaculata University and Marywood University.

This past fall, Keystone posted a 6-11 overall record an finished in a three-way tie for the final conference playoff berth with a 4-3 record in the CSAC, but missed out on the postseason tournament by virtue of tiebreakers. The Giants, under sixth-year head coach Kacy Manning, won their final four games of the 2013 season.
