Mark J. Powell

Attorney Mark J. Powell of Powell Law in Scranton recently was a featured instructor at an “Advanced Trial Skills” seminar sponsored by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy at the U.S. District Court building in Washington, D.C.

Powell joined an esteemed faculty of a dozen attorneys, judges, law school professors, communication specialists and other instructors from around the country for the five-day seminar held Oct. 7 to 11. The seminar, which was geared toward experienced practicing civil trial attorneys, involved taking a case from preparation through closing arguments. Powell instructed on direct and cross-examination of the case’s key witness.

Powell is a member of the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice; a member and past president of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Associationand a member of the Lackawanna Bar Association.
