Seven Abington Heights powerlifters placed in the top three at the state tournament in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania in April.


Ben Knock (114 lbs.) finished third in the junior varsity division.


Matt Devine (114 lbs.) finished first in the junior varsity Raw division and broke four state records.


Nick Bichler (132 lbs.) finished third in the junior varsity Raw division.


Ryan Greene (165 lbs.) finished first in the junior varsity Raw division.


Austin Bennett finished third in the junior varsity Raw division.


Landon York (220 lbs.) finished second in the junior varisty Raw division.


Dalton LaCoe (114 lbs.) finished first in the varsity division and broke four state records. He was also won the Best Lifter Award at the state meet.


Comets coach Claude Welcome was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for coaching by the Pennsylvania State Coaches Powerlifting Association.


During Nationals in Kileeen, Texas March 28-30, LaCoe won first place in his weight class and broke two national records. He was presented with the Best Lifter Award at the national meet. LaCoe was recently added to the United States Powerlifting team and will be travelling to Hungary September 1-7.


LaCoe is ranked first nationally in his weight class.
