A.H. grad selected to Div. 2 All-Conference team

Abington Heights graduate Billy McDermott, a sophomore at Keuka College, was selected to the 2014 second-team All-NEAC in voting conducted by North Eastern Athletic Conference coaches May 7.


McDermott, an outfielder, appeared in 33 games and batted .356 (42-for-118) with 25 runs scored, 17 RBI to earn his first All-NEAC selection.


McDermott ranked third among the Storm’s regular’s in batting average, and was second on the team in hits and stolen bases with seven. McDermott ranked 12th in the NEAC in batting average, and against NEAC foes, McDermott batted .373 with nine RBI.


McDermott compiled 13 multi-hit games, including five games with three or more hits. During a three-game sweep of Penn State-Berks (May 3-4), McDermott batted .615 (8-for-13) with five runs scored as the Storm clinched a share of the regular-season title.
