Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ Jose Pirela and the International League topped the Pacific Coast League, 7-3, in the Triple-A All-Star Game in Durham, North Carolina on Wednesday.

Pirela, the starting second baseman for the IL, reached base twice thanks to a pair of walks. He finished the game 0 for 1 at the plate with a run scored. Louisville’s Ruben Gotay substituted for Pirela in the sixth inning.

Omaha centerfielder Paulo Orlando robbed Pirela of a hit with a running catch at the wall.

Pirela made all three outs in the fifth inning, including a diving stop to throw out Las Vegas’ Allan Dykstra.
