The University of Scranton men’s golf team shot a four-score total of 310 to capture the first-ever Anthracite Golf Championships staged Sept. 16 at Glenmaura National Golf Club.

The Royals placed four golfers in the top 10 to win their second invitational title of the fall season, having captured the Utica Invitational on September 1 with a 294 at the Skenondoa Golf Club in Canton, N.Y.

Marywood University was second (336), followed by Keystone College (338), King’s College (342), Misericordia University (353), Wilkes University (383), and Baptist Bible College (385).

Junior Erik Meyer of Clarks Summit finished third with 75 , while sophomore Eric Montella of Waverly tied for ninth place with an 83.
