    Thomas (Sonny) McLarney, of Garfield Street, Nanticoke, died Wednesday in
the
   
Hospice Community Care center, Wilkes-BarreA lifelong resident of
Nanticoke, he was son of the late Helen Hurley.
   
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
   
He was a member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke.
   
Before retiring, he was owner of the Kove Lounge and the Coffee Shop
restaurants, Nanticoke.
   
He and his wife, the former Helen Drost, would have celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary Saturday.
   
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary.
   
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Sean, Lake Silkworth, Lehman
Township; a daughter, Helen Farber, Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren.
   
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday from the Kearney Funeral
Home Inc., 22 Prospect St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9
a.m. in St. Francis Church.
   
Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
