WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — A coroner has identified a man pronounced dead after he was left unresponsive at a central Pennsylvania hospital without explanation.

Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling says the dead man is 25-year-old Thomas Castle, of Williamsport.

The man was technically dead on arrival when he was first dropped off at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center about 3 a.m. Saturday, and formally pronounced dead minutes later.

The coroner says the cause of death won’t be known until an autopsy Monday.

Witnesses say the man was taken to the hospital by people at a small apartment building, where the man was found unresponsive on the front steps.

Police and the coroner won’t say if they suspect a drug overdose or some other cause of death.
