Brooke Ann Polachek and Joseph Willard Casey were united in marriage on Aug. 10, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, by the Rev. Joseph Pisaneschi.


The bride is the daughter of Donna Savoca. She is the granddaughter of George and Romaine Nenichka and the late Richard and Eleanor Polachek.


The groom is the son of Thomas and Linda Casey. He is the grandson of the late Willard and Dorothy Whalen and the late James and Catherine Casey.


The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, George Nenichka, and her uncle and godfather, David Nenichka. The wedding party included brothers, sisters-in-law, cousins and friends of the couple.


The bride chose her best friend, Alicia Januszewski, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Casey, Jennifer Casey, Kelly Comitz, Lora Januszewski, Erin May and Heather McDonough. Flower girls were Aubrey and Peyton Casey, nieces of the groom.


The groom chose his twin brother, James Casey, as his best man and his nephew and godson, Tyler Casey, as junior groomsman. Groomsmen were William Casey, Vincent Savoca, Michael Malak, Ric Rickard, Kevin Feifer and Robert Aten. Ring bearers were Bryce and Max Casey, nephews of the groom.


Scriptural readings were given by Maria Hudzik, godmother of the groom, and Patricia Brown, aunt of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Eileen Mudzik and Dan Casey, cousins of the groom.


Following the ceremony, an evening cocktail hour and wedding reception were held at the East Mountain Inn, Wilkes-Barre. The bride was honored with a display shower given by the maid of honor, bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and groom at the Gallery at Pierce Plaza, Kingston. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Costello’s Restaurant, Edwardsville.


The bride is a 2002 graduate of Bishop O’Reilly High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in medical studies in 2006 and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies in 2007 from King’s College. She is employed as a physician assistant at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.


The groom is a 1998 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with certification in elementary and special education from Wilkes University in 2002. He is employed as a teacher at Wyoming Valley West Middle School.


The newlyweds honeymooned at the Riu Palace in Aruba. They reside in Kingston.
