On July 5, 2013, Brian Edward Carey of Wilkes-Barre and Tara Lynn Novembrino of Scranton were united in marriage.
The bride is the daughter of Renee’ Novembrino. The groom is the son of Bridget and Joseph Ferdinand and the late Brian Carey.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother who was also the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Marie Biel, Tara Schuster and Debra Voytek, friends of the bride. Flower girl was Abigail Buzza, goddaughter of the bride.
The groom chose his friend, Michael Nasser, and brother, Sean Carey, as his best men. Groomsmen were Jonathan Ferdinand, brother of the groom, and Timothy Haberski, friend of the groom. Ushers were Robert Hug, cousin of the bride, and Coltin Brobst, cousin of the groom. Junior usher was Ethan Coffay, cousin of the groom.
A romantic outdoor ceremony held at Sand Springs Country Club, Drums, was officiated by Magistrate Paul J. Ware in which the bride and groom exchanged their own vows.
An evening cocktail hour followed in the courtyard and the reception in the outdoor tent overlooking the greens.
The bride is a graduate of West Scranton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in secondary education from Marywood University and certification in social studies. She is employed as a history teacher.
The groom is graduate of Coughlin High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in secondary education from Wilkes University and certification in both social studies and special education. He is employed as a therapeutic staff support for Step By Step and supervisor for United Parcel Service.
