Mr. and Mrs. John Oliver Jr., Dallas, announce the marriage of their daughter, Joanna Leigh, to Ryan Eugene Zale, Ocean City, New Jersey. The wedding took place on June 29 at the Smithville Inn, Galloway, New Jersey.
The bride chose her best friends and sorority sisters, Toni O’Planick, maid of honor, and Catharine Sayre, matron of honor. Flower girl was Olivia Oliver, niece of the bride, and the ring bearer was Jack Oliver, nephew of the bride. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. Her aunt, Lindsey Ripa, recited a poem chosen by the bride and groom.
The groom chose his two best friends, Alfred Howard as best man, and Joseph Acampora as groomsman.
The bride is a graduate of West Chester University, Pennsylvania, where she majored in communications. She earned her master’s degree in high school counseling from Rowan University, New Jersey. She is a member of the guidance department at Mainland Area Regional High School, Lynnwood, New Jersey.
She is the granddaughter of Celia Ripa and the late Charles E. Ripa Jr. and the late Priscilla and John J. Oliver Sr.
The groom is a graduate of Mercer College, where he majored in mortuary science. He is also a freelance artist. He is a funeral director at Zale Funeral Home.
He is the son of Janice and Robert Zale, Sommers Point, New Jersey. He is the grandson of Halena Zale and the late Eugene Zale and Mary and Robert Herman.
The couple honeymooned in Antigua. They reside in Ocean City, New Jersey, with their greyhound, Bugsy.
