Carmen Angelini laced a single to center field to drive home Ronnier Mustelier with the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders swept a doubleheader from Buffalo with a 2-1 victory in the nightcap.

Earlier in the day, Zoilo Almonte powered the RailRiders with two home runs and Jose Pirela and Corban Joseph each cracked one as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre rolled to a 7-2 victory in a seven-inning makeup game of an April 14 rainout.

Mustelier began the winning rally in the second game by drawing a walk, and Austin Romine moved him to second base with a sacrifice bunt. Two batters later, Angelini slammed a two-out single to center field as Mustelier raced home with the game-winning run.

The Bisons put two men on base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but RailRiders relief pitcher Mark Montgomery preserved the victory with a game-ending strikeout.

The RailRiders took a 1-0 lead in the third inning of that game, when Pirela singled home Antoan Richardson. But Buffalo tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, when Kevin Nolan lashed a one-out double and later scored on a single to center field by Chris Getz.

The RailRiders broke out early in the opener, as Pirela ripped a double to score Ramon Flores. Then they played long ball.

Corban Joseph unloaded a homer to open the second inning, then Almonte began the third with his first of two homers for a 3-0 RailRiders lead.

Later in the inning, Joseph added an RBI single, then Pirela ripped one over the left field wall for a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning. Richardson delivered Joseph with an RBI single in the fifth inning and Almonte added his second home run of the day with a solo shot in the seventh inning.

Chase Whitley struck out five and surrendered just two hits in five scoreless innings to earn the victory in the first game. Danny Burawa, who opened the ninth inning with two strikeouts, picked up the victory in the nightcap.
