Despite a stellar outing by the RailRiders’ bullpen, the IronPigs defeated Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 4-2 on Monday night at PNC Field.

RailRiders at the plate: SWB only managed five hits, all singles by five different players. Corban Joseph accounted for the lone RBI hit on the night.

RailRiders on the mound: Chris Leroux got the start and had a shaky first inning when he gave up four runs on five hits. After that, he retired the last 11 batters he faced. The bullpen threw five scoreless frames between Fred Lewis, Mark Montgomery and Yoshinori Tateyama.

Riding the Rails: Right-hander Matt Daley and infielder Scott Sizemore were both optioned from New York on Monday, but as of Monday’s game neither had reported to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre yet.

Miley’s Milestone watch: SWB Hall of Fame Manager Dave Miley remains just one win short of tying the franchise mark of managerial wins of 574 set by Marc Bombard in 2004.

The IronRail: After the first four games – of 16 – in the battle for the IronRail Trophy between the two closest rivals in the International League, the IronPigs lead the series 3-1. The next time the clubs meet is May 13-16 in Allentown.
