Norfolk combined a quality start by Eddie Gamboa and a big night from the offense to roll to a 10-0 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Friday night at Harbor Park.

Gamboa (1-2) scattered six hits over seven shutout innings, walking one while striking out six. The 29-year-old right-hander never faced more than four batters in an inning, and he struck out the side in the sixth inning en route to upping his strikeout total for the season to 37 — second-most in the International League.

The Tides gave Gamboa all the run support he would need in the first frame, as Brett Wallace lined a two-run home run to right field for his first homer of the season. Wallace later added an RBI double in a three-run third, one of four run-scoring doubles the Tides collected in the win.

Each Tides batter had a hit in the contest, as Norfolk (9-18) set a season-high with 10 runs and 13 hits. The 10-run margin of victory was also the largest for Norfolk since the Tides defeated Gwinnett 13-1 on August 26, 2013.

Ivad De Jesus doubled twice and drove in three runs to help pace the offense, while Chris Marrero and Alexi Casilla each added two hits apiece.

Brian Gordon (1-2) took the loss for the RailRiders, as he yielded seven runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings of work. Ronnier Mustelier had two hits for the RailRiders.

The two teams will continue their four-game series Saturday night at Harbor Park, with first pitch slated for 7:05. Steve Johnson (0-0, 5.87) is slated to come off the disabled list and make the start for Norfolk against right-hander Alfredo Aceves (0-0, 1.98), who spent the majority of spring training in the Orioles organization.
