The RailRiders got back to the .500 mark on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win over Indianapolis. They improved their record to 15-15 this season and won their third consecutive game for the first time in 2014.
RailRiders at the plate: Zelous Wheeler extended his hitting streak to nine games with a second-inning RBI-single. Adonis Garcia was the top hitter for the RailRiders going 2 for 3 with a run scored and a walk.
RailRiders on the mound: Chase Whitley had a career game with 11 strikeouts and allowing just three hits in 6 2/3 shutout innings to pick up his third win. Mark Montgomery came in in relief going the next 1 1/3 inning allowing just one walk. Robert Coello pitched the ninth allowing one run on a hit and a hit batsman.
Riding the Rails: The Yankees released Ronnier Mustelier on Tuesday, while right-hander Jose Ramirez was reinstated from the disabled list.
