The RailRiders dropped their second straight game versus Rochester on Friday, losing 7-1 at PNC Field as the Red Wings got to starter Brian Gordon for six runs in four innings to win for the ninth time in 10 games overall and win for the fifth time in five games this season against SWB.


RailRiders at the plate: They had just six hits with three players having two apiece. Ramon Flores led the way with a double and a homer. Scott Sizemore and Antoan Richardson each registered a pair of singles.


RailRiders on the mound: Brian took the loss to fall to 2-5 on the season as he allowed six runs in four innings. Mark Montgomery pitched the next 1 2/3 allowing a run on two hits. Danny Burawa took over for Montgomery in the sixth and lasted 1 1/3 innings. He’s allowed just four hits this season and no runs in 12 2/3 innings. Diego Moreno tossed a perfect eighth, while switch-pitcher Pat Venditte worked a perfect ninth.


Riding the Rails: Prior to Friday’s game a few roster moves were made as catcher Austin Romine was reinstated from the disabled list and Jose Gil was transferred to Staten Island in the corresponding move. In other moves, right-hander Chris Leroux was transferred from Staten Island to SWB and placed on the D.L., and so was lefty Nik Turley. …Former RailRider utility player Addison Maruszak, who was signed by the Phillies, played in two games with two different teams on Thursday. He played Thursday afternoon for Double-A Reading then traveled to Allentown and was a late replacement in Lehigh Valley’s night game.
