Scranton/Wilkes-Barre dropped a 6-2 decision to Rochester on Sunday at PNC Field as its record fell back to .500 at 24-24. The RailRiders also lost three of four to Rochester in the series and the short four-game homestand.


RailRiders at the plate: Held to just four hits, the RailRiders didn’t have a hit after Francisco Arcia’s RBI-single in the second inning. Jose Pirela and Ramon Flores singled, while Russ Canzler added a double.


RailRiders on the mound: Joel De La Cruz (1-2) pitched the first five innings and three of the four runs he allowed were in a error-filled top of the fifth, but he still took the loss. Branden Pinder tossed the next two innings allowing two in the sixth before a perfect seventh. Robert Coello pitched a scoreless eighth, despite loading the bases, and Jim Miller worked the ninth only allowing a single.


Riding the Rails: Left-hander Francisco Rondon was reinstated from the disabled list on Sunday and transferred from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to Double-A Trenton.
