It’s a time-honored tradition that just got a little more interesting.

The 2014 Pittston Tomato Festival is less than 100 days away – 95 to be exact. And for the past 12 years, the Sunday Dispatch has been featuring limited edition die-cast vehicles at its booth on the festival grounds.

On many occasions, the choice for a vehicle was a strenuous process. Currently, the Dispatch fleet includes a Porsche Boxter, a 1953 Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck, a 1957 Corvette, a school bus, a Volkswagen Beetle, a PT Cruiser, a Chevy SSR, a Mini Cooper, a Hummer Humvee, a Volkswagen Microbus and a Sunday Dispatch delivery truck – all of which sport the Sunday Dispatch logo.

But this year was a little more difficult. Our initial choice was a Smart Car. But when the company made us aware of the limited number of Smart Cars, we weren’t sure what to do. So, we are going to leave the decision up to you, Greater Pittston.

We can call it the first-ever Sunday Dispatch Tomato Festival Car War – or not. In the red corner sits a red Dodge Challenger. In the blue corner sits a blue Ford Mustang GT. Take your pick.

Visit The Sunday Dispatch’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sundaydispatch to vote. The car with the most votes by noon on Thursday, May 28 will win. You must “Like” the photo and comment with “Challenger” or “Ford” to cast your vote. Please limit votes to one per person.
