Edd Brominski’s frustration with the majority on the Luzerne County Council was obvious in his June 22 letter to the editor about something called “land banks.”

He and three friends looked at land banks in Reading, he says. He pitched the idea of land banks to the Luzerne County Council, he says, but they just blew off the idea. Maybe that’s because you’re not used to explaining things, Edd. Maybe you’re so used to talking in private to your buddies and cronies you’ve never developed ways of communicating with the general public.

And maybe you’re too vague, and misuse words and phrases in ways that make your pitch confusing. First, can you explain what a “land bank” is? How has it benefited the citizens of Reading and Pittston? How is the repository of property now held by the county different from a county land bank?

You say the council members are so “reactive” they can’t make a move unless kicked in the pants. Actually, the touch of a feather would make them react if they were so reactive. Your pants kicks probably stun them speechless; they’re not ignoring you, Edd, they’re awestruck. And confused.

Anytime I hear your name in relation to the Luzerne County Council, it’s you proposing something out of left field that has nothing to do with the many, many projects the council is already working on. It seems to me you don’t involve yourself with the others.

I don’t think this job as a member of a council, a group gathered to solve problems and administer to the needs of the county, really suits you.
