Where’s the food from the Christmas in July food drive?

Possibly Santa took it back up to the North Pole, because it seemingly isn’t in Luzerne County. It’s disheartening when I read how many pounds of food were supposed to go to our food banks for those truly in need. The Commission on Economic Opportunity has got it going. I received two cans of peaches, a bag of small rice, a can of beans, two tomato soups and a bag of noodles.

Please.

Someone’s pantry is stocked full, but it sure isn’t the people who need it. So next time we see Santa, let’s ask him to bring our donated food back, please!

It’s quite disturbing.

Maybe Unity Way of Wyoming Valley CEO Bill Jones can explain what’s the real meaning of what it means to “live united.”
