I was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, and many of my close family members still reside there. For this reason, my concern for the city is very strong.

I know that Tony George will be the best mayor that Wilkes-Barre could have in office.

It seems as though there is a definite power play at hand to stop him from getting elected. What is the hidden agenda behind this focus on some simple bookkeeping errors?

It is obvious that some people are doing everything possible to keep certain things buried.

I am concerned about the mismanagement of taxpayer dollars as well as the fact that Wilkes-Barre is in debt to an inconceivable amount of approximately $150 million.

If I remember correctly, it was Tony George, against all others, who recommended and pushed for the investigation into LAG Towing. Tony was the sole city council member to vote against the proposed “sewer authority,” or shall we call it the “good old boys club.” He did not vote in favor of the mayor’s original budget that was set to increase taxes by 31 percent.

Tony is not afraid to stand up for the people and do what is right. He has an “open-door policy” rather than the city’s “don’t ask and we will never tell” policy. Tony is man enough to admit his mistakes, make them right and be sure to never make the same mistake again. He is a man of integrity.

I do hope the people of Wilkes-Barre see through this deceit and get the change they so desperately deserve.
