PennEast Pipeline Co. was pleased to support pipeline safety and the Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at the team’s Aug. 11 game.
Given the date, the game provided an ideal opportunity to mark National 811 Day – the number to call before you dig to ensure an underground utility line is not damaged.
Representatives from PennEast enjoyed meeting area residents to stress the importance of calling 811 before the start of any digging project, as well as to discuss pipeline safety in general; however, PennEast’s safety efforts go beyond one night at a ballgame.
From more than two years of pipeline planning, to its construction and mitigation plans, to its operation procedures, safety is PennEast’s highest priority.
Through the course of hundreds of meetings, PennEast staffers have spent countless hours speaking with landowners, regulatory agencies, public officials, first responders and others. This engagement helped develop the project route to minimize impact and maximize safety.
PennEast’s safety measures include an anti-corrosion system, remotely controlled valves, regular inspections of the pipeline and the right of way, as well as around-the-clock monitoring.
Rest assured, when it comes to safety, PennEast will score the winning run.
