Now that the Republicans have total control in Washington and nearly total control in Harrisburg, it will be interesting to see what they do. Will they be elected representatives with a conscience and do what is right for the people or will they do what is best for the business world and the wealthy?

If they repeal Obamacare as promised, will they also be looking to dismantle successful government programs, such as Social Security and Medicare that have served the people well with low overhead and no profit for many years?

Will they increase spending for infrastructure, national defense and unnecessary wars and also couple it with tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy? If so, we’ll see huge increases in the national debt.

Will environmental and financial regulations be lifted to appease corporate polluters and Wall Street? If so, we can look forward to future economic collapses.

Will they support funding for public education or divert it to private schools that are attended by children of the well off? Will they support increasing the minimum wage for low income workers?

Will they work to repeal the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that gave women a legal right to have an abortion in an approved medical facility instead of in an illegal backyard butcher shop?

Obviously, there are many unanswered questions about the Republicans and how they will govern.
