The North Mountain Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association held its Rack Pack Outdoor Skills Camp on July 18 at the Sorber Mountain Cabin in Noxen.
The event attracted 38 youth under 18 and 29 adults and instructors. The youth were divided into eight groups based on age and were instructed in deer calling (Jeremy Sorber), turkey calling (Jack Sorber), honey bees (Bob Brown), pellet guns (Tom Fostock and Marc Ronczka), archery (Sean Hoover and Julie Sorber), fox and coyote calling (Dick Bednarczyk), fishing (Mark Morrow) and food plots (Chip Sorber and Ron Sorber).
Another Outdoor Skills Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Vosburg, Wyoming County. For more information, call Chip Sorber at 570-477-2303.
