LEHMAN TWP. — Memorabilia from Connor McGovern’s Jan. 9 appearance in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio is making its way to display cases in the Lake-Lehman High School lobby.

Athletic director Jeff Shook presented the jersey and helmet McGovern wore for the East squad to the school during the Lake-Lehman School Board meeting Monday night.

McGovern earned a series of conference, state and national honors during a high school football career in which he was a part of two division championship teams for the Black Knights. After completing his career in the fall 2015 season, McGovern, regarded as one of the nation’s top recruits among offensive linemen, graduated early. He’s already reported to Penn State University in early January, days after playing in San Antonio.

“Connor McGovern represented himself, his family, his school and community at the Army All-American Game in San Antonio,” Shook said during his presentation, pointing out that McGovern also had a 3.7 grade point average before graduating early. “He showed us what it is to be a leader through his hard work and determination on the field.”
