Here’s a flashback to a recent time that most of us would rather forget. Lee Aument of Honey Pot used a trail camera to capture this image of an adult doe wading through snow after the heavy snowstorm that struck in March. The snow is so deep it almost reaches the doe’s belly. Notice how the doe’s coat has insulated her so well that there’s no body heat escaping to melt the snow on its head and back.

While the March storm may have been a big inconvenience for us, it was an event that wildlife weathered pretty well. Aument said he spotted a fawn with spots before the storm, which was obviously born very late, and was relieved when he saw it again recently.

Capture anything interesting on your hand-held or trail camera? A nice buck, bear, coyote or any other wildlife? We’d love to see it. Each week, we’ll run photos from a reader’s trail camera on the Sunday Outdoors page. Email your photo, along with date and area it was taken (township is fine), and any other details to [email protected].
