Coughlin rallied from elimination, winning the final two games to defeat Tunkhannock 3-2 in Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball Monday.

Tunkhannock won the opener 25-12, but Coughlin rallied for a 25-18 win in the second game. Tunkhannock then posted a 25-18 win before Coughlin came back in the fourth and fifth game to win 25-23 and 15-11.

Kyle Williams led Coughlin with 13 kills, 11 assists and three blocks. Derek Whitesell added six kills, five blocks and three assists. Nick Werkeiser had six kills, three blocks and seven assists.

Avery Billings had 10 kills, six blocks and four aces for Tunkhannock. Paul Binner added 11 assists, five kills and two digs. Evan Turner had seven kills, six blocks and five aces.

North Pocono 3,

Hanover Area 0

James Ildefonso had 10 points and nine kills as North Pocono defeated Hanover Area 25-7, 25-12, 25-3.

Colin Coles (7 kills, 6 digs) and Jonathan Haikes (17 assists, 8 digs) also contributed to the victory.

Kyle Baranosky had three blocks and two kills for Hanover Area. Manny Adams had two points and an ace. Will Kauffman had a block and an assist.

Nanticoke 3,

Lake-Lehman 0

Luke Butczynski (four aces, eight kills, one dig), Justin Casey (six aces, six kills, four blocks) and Alec Divers (three aces, two kills, 15 assists, two blocks, one dig) led the Trojans to a 25-8, 25-11, 25-10 sweep.

Andrew Jubis (one service point, two kills, two digs, two blocks) and Sean Sabaluski (three service points, one kill, two digs, two blocks) led the Black Knights.

BOYS TRACK

Meyers 103,

Northwest 47

Meyers won all 18 events on the way to a victory.

Nazir Dunell won the 110 hurdles and 100 dash. Namir Murphy was first in the discus and shot put. Je’Vondrea McClair was a triple winners, sweeping the jumping competition.

GIRLS TRACK

Northwest 103,

Meyers 40

Cecelia Hunington (800, 1,600) and Kennedy Maclean (javelin, shot put) were double winners for Northwest.

Meyers’ Ilequa Adams won the 300 and 100 hurdles.

BOYS TENNIS

Dallas 3,

MMI Prep 2

Alex DeRome won at No. 3 singles and Dallas swept the doubles competition to edge MMI Prep.

Jonathan Smith and Evan Spear were singles winners for Prep.
