Sport, position: Soccer, forward

Last week: Herrera recorded a hat trick in Crestwood’s 5-1 win over Abington Heights for the District 2 Class 3A championship last Thursday. The sophomore is tied with teammate Bella Termini for most goals scored this season.

What she says: “It felt good. I was just playing. I had the shots so I took them.”

Coach says: “Not only is she a great soccer player, but she’s a wonderful person. She’s a great person who likes to lead the team in certain ways. … It’s a family unit. It’s such a special thing because they play for each other, not for themselves or for wins, but for each other and that’s helped us achieve some tremendous things.” — Russ Kile, Crestwood girls soccer coach
