Mary Tona scored her 100th-career goal in Coughlin’s 9-0 shutout of GAR in girls soccer action on Tuesday night.

Tona received a pass from Bre Georgette and put the ball past GAR’s Haley Gobla just inside the right post with 36:54 remaining in the first half to notch her 100th. She scored again with just 19:26 left in the second half.

Emma Sukowaski netted four goals, Hailee Dumont had two and Skyler Panattieri scored one to further help the Crusaders to victory. Coughlin out shot GAR 20-4 and had a 5-1 advantage in corners.

Paige Davis, the Crusaders goalkeeper, made four saves to secure the shut out.

Pittston Area 1, Berwick 1 2OT

Megan Florio scored for Pittston Area and Madison Coolbaugh netted a goal for Berwick which would result in a tie after two overtimes.

Taryn Ashby made eight saves for Pittston Area and Raina Goulstone stopped 11 shots for Berwick.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Meyers 3, MMI Prep 2

Meyers dropped two of the first three games of the night, but rallied to take the last two and narrowly defeat MMI Prep in five games.

Match scores were 16-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17 and 15-8.

Chloe Delp provided 10 service points, eight assists, seven kills and two digs while Danielle Walley contributed 12 digs and eight kills for the Mohawks. Alyssa Lane added 18 service points, eight digs, four kills and two aces to further Meyers’ cause.

Crestwood 3, Nanticoke 1

Despite Nanticoke winning the first game of the night, Crestwood won the next three to take the match.

Game scores were: 21-25, 25-20, 25-14 and 25-8.

Ally Olszyk had 17 assists, 11 service points and seven aces while Michelle Loveless tallied 13 service points and two digs for the Royals.

Nanticoke’s Kasey Radginski had nine kills, three blocks and a dig while Courtney Mazonis and Veronka Popyk had seven and eight digs respectively.

Holy Redeemer 3, Tunkhannock 0

Brynn Kukoski tallied 19 service points, four kills, one assist and one dig while Kassie Schinski provided 14 points, two kills and two aces as Holy Redeemer defeated Tunkhannock 25-5, 25-8 and 25-11.

Wyoming Area 3, Berwick 1

Wyoming Area defeated Berwick 23-25, 25-20, 25-14 and 25-10.

The Warriors were lead by Jess Sorick (13 kills, 6 service points), Heather Nametko (18 digs, 7 kills), Megan Wysocki (6 kills, 5 aces) and Rachel Solano (28 assists, 5 kills).

BOYS SOCCER

Holy Redeemer 4, Hanover Area 2

Four-consecutive goals from Holy Redeemer helped the Royals defeat the Hawkeyes. Eric Schramm netted two goals while Lucas Barknak and Jude Height each tallied one for Holy Redeemer.

Jordan Flaim scored two goals for Hanover Area to open the game, but the Hawkeyes were not able to hold on for the win.

Lake-Lehman 9, MMI Prep 0

Ian Dawsey had a hat trick while Nick Wnuk tallied a goal and recored two assists. Four other Black Knights found the score sheet and the team out shot MMI Prep 20-4.

The goalkeeping tandem of Tommy Williams and Tyler Manzoni combined to make one save en route to a shut out win.

GIRLS TENNIS

Wyoming Seminary 5, GAR 0

Jacqui Meuser, Megan Obeid and Abby Capin all won singles matches and both doubles teams picked up wins as Wyoming Seminary defeated GAR.

Holy Redeemer 4, Coughlin 1

The teams of Emily Evans, Lauren LaMarca and Julia Randazzo, Gracyn Giampietro grabbed wins and both Angela Malinovitch and Abby Muth got singles wins as Holy Redeemer topped Coughlin.

Diana Rodriguez picked up the lone win of the night for Coughlin.
