The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired right wing Danny Kristo from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for defenseman Reid McNeill on Saturday.

The news was announced by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. Kristo will report to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The 26-year-old Kristo has posted three consecutive 20-plus goal seasons in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack (2013-14, 2014-15) and the Chicago Wolves (2015-16). Last season, he paced the Wolves with 25 goals and finished second on the team with 48 points.

A second-round selection by the Montréal Canadiens in 2008, Kristo played four seasons at the University of North Dakota and led the team with 26 goals and 52 points in his senior season. He garnered first team honors in the WCHA at the end of the 2012-13 season.

The Edina, Minn. native has also represented the United States on the international stage, helping the team to a gold medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships.

Kristo has recorded 142 points (72G-70A) in 225 career AHL games with the Wolves, Wolf Pack and Hamilton Bulldogs in parts of five seasons.

McNeill, 24, has appeared in 190 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in parts of five seasons, recording 29 points (4G-21A) and 319 penalty minutes. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL draft by Pittsburgh.
