Holy Redeemer defeated MMI Prep 3-0 to stay perfect on the season in Wyoming Valley Conference volleyball play. Game scores of 25-6, 25-9 and 25-6.

Kassie Schinski (18 service points, 1 kill), Brynn Kukoski (9 kills, 6 service points, 2 digs), Sarah Liskowicz (3 kills) and Julia Andrejko (3 service points, 1 kill) led the Royals to victory.

Dana Caratto (3 kills, 2 digs, 2 service points, 1 ace), Gabbey Kupsho (6 digs, 2 service points, 1 ace) and Madison Perchak (13 digs, 7 service points, 1 assist, 1 block) led the way for MMI Prep.

Pittston Area 3,

Hanover Area 0

Marley O’Brien recorded 13 kills, nine service points and five aces while Kirsten Durling contributed 19 assists, 11 service points and four aces as Pittston Area topped Hanover Area. Meghan Gerrity also added 12 service points and three aces for the Patriots.

For the Hawkeyes, McKenna Reedey had seven assists, six service points and five digs, Julie Fischer provided eight digs and Mia Zagmi tallied six digs and two kills.

Game scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 25-19.

Nanticoke 3, Dallas 0

Abbey Zaykoski finished with 12 kills, two aces and an assist and Jenna Lipowski recorded 20 assists, six kills, six aces, two blocks and two digs as they helped Nanticoke sweep Dallas in three. Game scores were 25-19, 25-19 and 25-17.

Catherine Dillon (10 service points, 5 kills, 4 digs, 4 aces, 1 block), Caitlyn Pike (10 assists, 4 service points, 2 digs, 2 aces) and Emilee Zawatski (12 digs, 2 service points) led Dallas.

Tunkhannock 3,

Lake-Lehman 0

In a match played Tuesday, Amanda Hardy recorded 15 kills, Megan Straley tallied 11 service points and Makayla Mills added eight kills as Tunkhannock swept Lake-Lehman. Game scores were 25-15, 25-14 and 25-16.

Emily Keithline had six kills and six digs, Hailey Kubiski finished with seven digs and five kills and Ashley provided seven assists and four digs to help lead the Black Knights.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Ithaca 2, Misericordia 1

Misericordia had its nine-game unbeaten streak snapped in a loss at Ithaca in a battle of nationally-ranked teams.

Making just her second appearance in the last month, Meghan Antrim scored for the No. 17 Cougars off an assist from Alex Gallagher, but it would be the only offense of the night for Misericordia.

King’s 1, Alfred 0

Senior Ivy Nulton scored the game-winning goal with 30:45 left in the contest as King’s earned a victory over host Alfred.

After a scoreless first half King’s pushed across the lone goal of the game when Alexandra Garrett found Nulton who buried a shot in the back of the Saxon net at the 59:15 mark. The King’s defense did the job the rest of the way, holding Alfred without a shot for the remainder of the match.

Monarch goalie Jessica Kuhn made one save to record the shutout in her first collegiate start.

Mahoney honored

Wilkes senior goalkeeper Kate Mahoney has been named the ECAC Division III South Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 25.

Mahoney helped lead the Colonels to a 1-1 week. She made 10 saves in a 1-0 win over Eastern, her fifth shutout of the season. She then made another 10 saves in a loss against DeSales, who is undefeated in Freedom Conference play.

FIELD HOCKEY

Cougars in senior game

Misericordia standouts Lindsay Hischak, of Mountain Top, and Angela Pasquini have been selected to play in the 2015 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coach’s Association Division III Senior Game.

The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Washington & Lee University.

Hischak, a forward, ranks third in the MAC Freedom with 1.71 points per game. She is third in assists (7) and sixth in goals (11).

Pasquini is second among MAC Freedom goalies with a .777 save percentage and is tied for first with three shutouts. She also ranks fourth in goals against average (1.72).

MEN’S SWIMMING

FDU-Florham 127, Wilkes 51

In the 200 medley relay, the Colonels’ team of Chase Osborne, Matthew Nevers, Thurman Fogleman, and Mike Henne finished second with a time of 2:00.62.

The relay team of Austin Paisley, Osborne, Jake Chielli, and Christopher Bright finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.69.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING

Wilkes 111, FDU-Florham 83

Wilkes notched its first victory of the season as Morgan Williams set new records in the 1000 freestyle, finishing second at 12:33.69, and in the 500 backstroke, finishing second at 6:09.15.

The relay team of Amanda Lopez, Sarah Fasulka, Allie Aspey and Amanda Stickles finished first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:05.62. In the 200 freestyle relay, the team of Cassandra Morey, Megan Evers, Danielle McCole, and Aspey finished first with a time of 1:50.74.

VOLLEYBALL

King’s 3, Delaware Valley 0

King’s wrapped up its Freedom Conference schedule with a 25-9, 25-13, 25-12 road win.

Jill Korgeski led King’s with 11 kills and eight digs while Alexis Swagler followed with seven kills and six digs. Rachel Miller added six kills, three aces and seven digs while Kristen Bohnenblusch tallied four kills and four digs. Maddie Kumm dished out 27 assists with six digs while Brenna Smudde posted 14 digs and three aces. Elen O’Donnell and Aubrey Gryskiewicz had seven digs each while Kateln Shifflett had three digs.

Eastern 3, Misericordia 0

Misericordia closed out its league schedule with a loss at Eastern. Game scores were 25-8, 25-14, 25-17.

Paige Shaughnessy led the Cougars with six kills while Meghan Stack added five. Nicole Tagerty had 13 assists and 10 digs.

Stack added nine digs and two aces and Ariana Gagliardi and Kaitlin Wheeler both had seven digs.

Manhattanville 3, Wilkes 0

The Lady Colonels dropped their Freedom Conference finale by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-7.

Kayley Schinski led the Wilkes attack with five kills. Ally Paskas followed with four kills and 14 digs. Danica Benson paced the backline with a team-high 22 digs while setter Megan Powers finished with 17 assists.
