Wilkes University announced the delay of its NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey program. The program will now begin competition during the 2018-19 season.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Michael Young has decided to remain in his role at his alma mater of Westfield State.

Wilkes made the decision in the best interest of the University and the men’s ice hockey program to suspend the 2017-18 season and conduct a national search for a head coach in the spring of 2017. The timeline will afford the coach a full recruiting cycle to develop a roster for the inaugural season in 2018-19.
