The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders were busy on the front office side on Tuesday.
The franchise announced the addition of three new members to its staff, and the promotion of 11 current employees.
Pennsylvania native Scott A’Hara is joining the RailRiders in the role of chief financial officer/controller, while Jordan Maydole joins as director of community relations and Amy Miller, who came to the franchise in February, is the new office manager.
“The new additions to the RailRiders’ staff have given us strong new leaders to help this organization continue its growth,” Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders president and COO Josh Olerud said in a press release. “To say the new titles and promotions are well deserved would be an understatement. Our leadership team is the driving force to our teams success and their hard work is paying off.”
Before joining the RailRiders, A’Hara was previously the assistant controller for the Washington Redskins. Maydole has a diverse background in athletics, spending the 2016 season as a community relations intern for the Oakland Athletics and also worked various jobs within the University of San Francisco athletics department from 2015 to 2017 as a graduate assistant. Miller graduated from Nanticoke in 2002, and also received her bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University.
Of the 11 front office promotions, Curt Camoni’s ascended to the role of assist general manager of baseball operations, which has been added to his title of vice president. This comes as a move to not only expand Camoni’s role within the organization, but for the Jessup native to help Olerud fill the hole left by the previous general manager, Jeremy Ruby.
Olerud will be the interim GM this season.
“He’s been on the baseball side for a long time, and I could see him very easily sitting as the GM some day,” Olerud told the Times Leader in February.
Other notable promotions include Katie Beekman, a West Wyoming native, spearheading the role of vice president of corporate partnerships and services, 2003 Scranton Prep graduate Bob McClane as vice president of ticket sales, Tamaqua native Billy Steiner as director of business operations, Riverside grad Kristina Knight as senior director of graphic design/corporate services and Erie native Felicia Adamus as senior director of ticket operations.
“Some people in the front office have gotten bigger roles to take on, which is great for them because they’re developing with in the team, too,” Olerud said.
Kelly Cusick has been promoted to the role of inside sales manager, Mike Harvey has been named group sales manager, Noelle Richard has been named corporate services manager, Gina Sorce has been named corporate services manager/director of special event and Victor Sweet has been named director of analytics/video and website manager.
