Berwick’s Cassidy Eckert scored four goals and had one assist to lead the the Bulldogs to a 9-0 win over the Nanticoke girls soccer team. Lydia Traugh scored three goals and had two assists. Maddison Coolbaugh and Lexi Gearhart both scored a goal each.

Meyers’ had seven different players score a goal, and Matt Manfre scored two goals. Johnny Torres had two assists, and Michael Krasnavage had one goal and two assists.

MMI Prep’s Irene Atmiller scored the lone goal of the match, assisted by Nicholas Carrato.

Coughlin’s Keidy Meija scored nine digs and three aces. Pilar Cantoran had three kills, seven digs and five aces, and Nicol Casado had seven assists and four aces.

Merchant Marine 56, Misericordia 35

Merchant Marine’s offense produced 35 points in the second half. Quarterback Brandon Leap passed for three touchdowns and 436 yards.

Misericordia’s Tyler Collins led the defense with 13 tackles, and Nick Yeager had 11.

Muhlenberg 62, Wilkes 19

Wilkes quarterback Jose Tabora picked up where he left off last season as a starter. Tabora went a perfect 6 for 6 for 45 yards on the Colonels opening drive. He found a variety of receivers during the drive including passes to Aaron Coyne, Garrett Armstrong, Jeff Steeber and Greg Albertson moving the ball down inside the Muhlenberg 10-yard-line. Facing a third-and-goal, Tabora looked as though he was off on a designed run before pulling up and lofting a pass to a wide open Coyne in the back of the end zone to put the Colonels on the board. A Mike Hauck extra point sailed wide left as Wilkes trailed 7-6 with 6:14 left in the opening quarter.

Muhlenberg went back to its ground game on its second drive as Savant took a handoff 54 yards up the middle for his second touchdown of the day pushing the Mules lead to 13-6. The two-point conversion was broken up by Jones Mensah to keep Wilkes within one score with 5:25 left in the first quarter.

Tabora finished 23-for-35 passing for 195 yards and three touchdowns. It marked the second time the sophomore signal-caller has thrown for three touchdowns and the fourth time throwing two or more scores through the air. Armstrong was a matchup problem all day for the tough Muhlenberg defense totaling career-highs in receptions (10) and yards (121) while grabbing one score. Coyne made four receptions for 36 yards and two scores.

Tabora led the Wilkes ground attack with 31 yards on eleven carries. Wilkes was limited to just 68 yards on the ground compared to Muhlenberg’s 403 yards and six touchdowns.

FIELD HOCKEY

Susquehanna 4, Wilkes 3

Susquehanna’s Hunter Pitman had one goal in the second half and one in overtime for the victory. Heather Casey had two assists and one goal, and Julia Hasircoglu had two assists.

Wilkes’ Megan Kane had one goal and one assist.

Salisbury 4, Misericordia 0

Salisbury’s Emma Vicchio scored the first goal and Natalie Wilkinson scored the second goal. Jillian Hughes scored a penalty stroke goal and Tara Daddio scored off an assist from Emily Lemanski.

Misericordia’s Katelyn Campbell recorded seven saves.

Gwynedd Mercy 3, King’s 2

Gwynedd Mercy used two late goals for the comeback victory at Mangelsdorf Field in Dallas.

Gwynedd Mercy’s Melissa Russo scored one goal and had one assist. Maggie Walsh scored and assisted one goal, and Shannon Caroll assisted one.

King’s Kelsey Gabriele scored one goal and assisted one, and Selina Malacari scored a goal.

King’s 2, Centenary 0

King’s Liam McLaughlin scored two goals and one was assisted by Aidan DeCamillo. Owen Geedey saved six shots.

Centenary’s Devon Warne saved four shots on goal.

Rochester 2, Misericordia 1

Rochester’s Geoffrey Rouin scored just after the 10th minute, and Stefan Sarkovich scored late in the second quarter.

Misericordia’s Levi Roberts scored the lone goal at the very end of the game, and Pat Hoffman made three saves.

Misericordia 3, Penn State Schuylkill 0

Misericordia’s Tara Welliver had five kills and six aces, and Mikayla Gunkle had six kills. Sarah Pool had five kills and Ariana Gagliardi had 25 assists.

Penn State’s Alyssa Hatter had three kills and one ace, and Kylee Clark had three kills and two aces. Sydney Hoopman had eight digs.

Notre Dame 3, Misericordia 1

Notre Dame’s Sarah Sweet had nine kills, eight aces, one block, two assists and nine digs. Kayleigh Davis had 14 kills and one ace, and Jamie Reyes had 27 assists.

Misericordia’s Sarah Pool had 10 kills and two aces, and Ariana Gagliardi had two aces and 22 assists. Karley May had 16 assists.

King’s places 5th place at invy

King’s Daniel Michels took 26th place out of 95 with a time of 18:04.8 at the Delaware Valley Invitational. Antonio Angelini took 35th with 18:20.9, and Adam Bahrey took 49th with 18:40.6.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

King’s takes 3rd

King’s Tara Johnson took 3rd place out of 92 with a time of 20:46.4 at the Delaware Valley Invitational. Marissa Durako took 4th place with a time of 20:49.5, and Cera Gaston finished seventh in 20:55.8.
