WILKES-BARRE – Two people pleaded guilty Monday in Luzerne County Court to their roles in burglarizing a residence during a mandatory evacuation during the September 2011 flood.

Brenda Wolfe, 30, of Laurel Run, and Christopher Wilson, 42, of Eley Street, Kingston, admitted to conspiring to burglarize a neighbor's residence on Eley Street, Kingston, on Sept. 9, 2011.

Wolfe, who lived on Eley Street at the time, was trusted by her neighbors, who gave her keys to their residence to let a dog outside during the evacuation of the Wyoming Valley, according to arrest records.

Assistant District Attorney Michele Hardik said Wolfe, Wilson and Marie Catherine Zuccaro, 34, took a flat-screen television, DVDs and a DVD player, a video game system and games and toys valued at $2,680, arrest records say.

Kingston police recovered all of the merchandise from the residence of Wilson and Zuccaro.

Under negotiated plea deals, Wolfe and Wilson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary, a felony, before Judge Fred Pierantoni III.

Felony charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property were withdrawn against Wolfe, and a felony theft charge was withdrawn against Wilson.

The charges were graded as felonies because the alleged crime occurred during a state of emergency due to the flood.

Zuccaro pleaded guilty to a felony charge of criminal conspiracy, and was expected to testify against Wolfe.

Pierantoni said Wolfe and Wilson will be sentenced March 12.
