CAMPS/CLINICS


 



Back Mountain Martial Arts will hold a women's self defense seminar Dec. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. at Twin Stacks, 1140 Memorial Highway, Dallas. The seminar cost $60. For more information, call 675-9535.



Wilkes University Women's Lacrosse will hold a lacrosse clinic for girls ages 3-18 on Saturday, January 19th. The clinic will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the University Center. Cost of the clinic is $40. LEAGUES


 



Hanover Area Youth Basketball registration for boys and girls grades 3-6 who reside in Hanover will be held Nov. 10 at noon at Memorial Elementary. The cost is $35. Coaches and sponsors are needed. For more information, call 822-8797 or email jklcyensid@verizon.net.



Kingston Recreational Center will hold its Tommy Federici Memorial Sunday and Wednesday adult men's basketball leagues starting Nov. 11 and Nov. 14. Players over the age of 17 can register for each league until Nov. 11.



Willie Obremski Youth Basketball League will hold drafts starting Nov. 16 for ages 5-18 at the Kingston Recreational Center. Players can register any time when the building is open. The draft for ages 5-7 will be held Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. The draft for ages 8-10 will be held Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The draft for ages 11-13 will be held Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. The draft for ages 14-18 will be held Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Practice begins Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m., and the league starts Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. Parents are asked to attend the drafts.


 



MEETINGS


 



Ashley/Newtown Little League will hold its monthly meeting Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Fireman's grounds. Nominations for elections will be held. Anyone who wants to be on the Board may attend. The public is welcome.



Crestwood Boys Basketball Booster Club will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at Cavanaugh's Grille. The topics of discussion will be the Winter Social, Meet the Players Night and an update on the 7th and 8th grade teams.



GAR Football Booster Club will meet Thursday Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.



Kingston/Forty Fort Little League Board of Directors will meet Monday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Kingston Rec. Center. Interested members are encouraged to attend.



Nanticoke Area Basketball Booster Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. All supporters of the Nanticoke boys and girls basketball programs from 7th through 12th grades are encouraged to attend. Plans for the upcoming season, including Meet the Players Night, will be discussed.



Swoyersville Little League will meet on Monday Nov 19. Board members meeting at 6:30 p.m., regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Swoyersville borough building.


 



PHYSICALS


 



Nanticoke winter sports physicals will be given at the office of Dr. Jon Olenginski, 4 East Main St., Nanticoke Saturday, Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Any athlete who has not had a physical for a fall sport must get one prior to the start of practice on Nov. 16. REGISTRATIONS/TRYOUTS


 



Max Impact Softball is scheduling tryouts on Friday, November 16 for our 2013 Spring Travel Softball Team for all ages. Please call 570-822-1134 to sign up.



Northampton League of the JCC and YMCA is a recreational league held for boys and girls ages 5 through 13 years. Games will be held on Sunday afternoons. Games for ages 8 through 13 will begin Sunday, Nov 18. Practices will be held once a week. For more information or to register call Sean Miller, Northampton League Director at 208-9622. WB Express AAU will hold tryouts for its Spring 2013 AAU teams Nov. 8 at the Wyoming Seminary Upper School, Maple Ave., Kingston. UPCOMING EVENTS/OTHER


 



Northwest Area Boys and Girls Basketball Teams will be sponsoring the Third Annual Blue White Night on Saturday, November 24th. The basketball games will start at 5 p.m. with the Biddy and Jr High games, 6 p.m. Girls & Boys Varsity Games and 7:30 p.m. Men's and Women's Alumni Games. All proceeds will benefit the boys and girls basketball teams.
