CAMPS/CLINICS


 



Anthracite Curling Club will host a Learn to Curl Clinic at The Ice Rink at Coal Street, Wilkes-Barre, Nov. 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. No skating is required. Wear warm, comfortable athletic clothing, and sneakers with a good tread on the sole. The Club provides other equipment. Participants learn the basics of the game: stone delivery, sweeping, and strategy. Electric City Baseball & Softball Academy will host its annual Winter Skills Baseball Camp at Riverfront Sports in Scranton on Saturdays, Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Mansfield University will host a Christmas Baseball Clinic from Dec 28-30. The camp will focus hitting, pitching, defense or a full day mini-camp. The age groups are 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-18. For more information or to register go to http://gomounties/sports.




Stan Waleski Black Friday Basketball Camp will be held at the St. Joseph's Oblates gym in Laflin on Nov. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon for boys and girls in grades 2-8. The camp stresses skills, fundamentals, competitions, team play and fun, with all players receiving a certificate and t-shirt. Crestwood Boys Basketball Booster Club will have its next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Cavanaugh's Grille.

UPCOMING EVENTS/OTHER


 



Dallas Soccer Booster Club invites all alumni soccer players for the annual alumni game Nov. 24 at Cleary Field in Dallas against the 2012 soccer team. The game starts at 11 a.m. No RSVP needed. Refreshments will be served.



Northwest Area Boys and Girls Basketball Teams will be sponsoring the Third Annual Blue-White Night on Saturday, Nov. 24. The basketball games will start at 5 p.m. with the Biddy and junior high games, girls and boys varsity games at 6 p.m., and men's and women's alumni games at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the boys and girls basketball teams.



Wyoming Area Football will have PIAA first round Advance Admission Tickets for Saturdays game being sold at the High School. Adult price is $6 and Student is $3.
