Back Mountain Martial Arts will hold a women's self defense seminar Dec. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. at Twin Stacks, 1140 Memorial Highway, Dallas. The seminar cost $60. For more information, call 675-9535.

Misericordia University will host a girls' lacrosse clinic, Sunday, Feb. 17 at the Anderson Center. Under the direction of Misericordia head coach Chrissy Trescavage, the clinic is open to girls from 10-18 years-old and welcomes players of all skill levels. Cost for the 90-minute clinic is $40 and includes a Misericordia t-shirt. The clinic will feature instruction on offensive and defensive skills as well as a scrimmage. Stan Waleski Holiday Basketball Camp will be held at the Greater Pittston YMCA on Thursday, Dec. 27 and Friday, Dec. 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for boys and girls in grades 2 through 8. Interested players are invited to attend one or both camps. The camp stresses skills, fundamentals, team play, competitions, tournaments, awards and fun with all players receiving a camp certificate and t shirt. Wilkes University will hold a Colonels Elite Baseball Prospect Program Dec. 16, Feb. 23 and May 12 from 6-7:15 p.m. at the Marts Center for students with graduating years from 2013-2016. Wilkes University
Strength and Conditioning Winter Speed and Agility Camp for boys and girls ages 10-18, runs Tuesdays and Fridays starting Dec. 11 through Jan. 11. Sessions will be 5-6 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. at the University Center on Main. For more information, email [email protected].

Wilkes University Women's Lacrosse will hold a lacrosse clinic for girls ages 3-18 on Saturday, Jan. 19. The clinic will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the University Center. Cost of the clinic is $40. Crestwood Football Booster Club will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at Tony's Pizza.

GAR Football Booster Club will meet Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Choral Room at the high school.

Nanticoke Youth Soccer will meet Thursday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. at Larry's Pizza.

North W-B Little League will hold a meeting on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Woodlands. All parents registering their children for the 2013 season are encouraged to attend. Registrations will betaken before the meeting.

Plains Yankees Football and Cheerleading Organization will hold its next monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 11 at the PAV in Hudson. All are welcome to attend.

Swoyersville Little League will have its monthly meeting Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m.

Wyoming Valley West Basketball Booster Club will have a meeting Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at the middle school. Parents of all players 7-12 are encouraged to attend.

 

REGISTRATIONS/TRYOUTS

 

North W-B Little League will hold registration Sunday, Dec.16 from 5 - 6 at the Woodlands. Children residing in Parsons, Miners Mills, North End, and East End are eligible. Must be four years old by April 30, 2013. Cost is $45.00 per child, $25.00 each additional child within family $65.00 for each Teener League player. Sandlot High School Baseball Camp will run for six weeks, starting Jan. 26 and ending March 3rd. The days will run on Sundays, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The camp covers hitting, pitching and fielding and will be staffed by local high school and college coaches. It will be at 1000 Dunham Drive in Dunmore and the cost is $150. To register, call 445-1155 or e-mail [email protected].
