King's College Softball is holding their Champions Softball Clinic on Sunday Feb. 17 for girls ages 9-18. A pitching clinic will be held from 9:30 a.m. to Noon while a hitting and fielding clinic will run from 1 – 3:30 p.m. Cost of each clinic is set at $40. Lackawanna College Baseball, along with the Graham Academy, will conduct its fourth annual free baseball clinic for the autism and special needs community, ages five through seventeen. This event is on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Graham Academy's Luzerne Campus, 469 Miller Street, Luzerne. It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic consists of pitching drills, a home run derby and other skill and fun happenings. The emphasis is on providing a fun and exciting experience for all involved. A free lunch with the players will be provided for the attendees by the Academy with the generous support from Abe's Hot Dogs. Valley Laxers will hold registration for its inaugural season on the following dates: Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday Feb. 24 at noon to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, March 3 at noon to 2 p.m. The organization be fielding the following teams: U9 (Boys & Girls) ages 6,7,8 born on or after Sept., 1, 2003, U11 (Boys & Girls) ages 9,10,11 born on or after Sept. 1, 2001, U13 (Boys & Girls) ages 11,12,13 born on or after Sept. 1, 1999, U15 (Boys & Girls) ages 12,13,14 born on or after September 1, 1997. League fee is $150. Included in this fee is one to two practices per week, a 10-12 game schedule, two in-season tournaments and a game jersey. Players will be responsible for their own equipment: lacrosse helmet, gloves, pads, stick and mouthpiece.
