Carbondale (4-5)

Tunkhannock (2-7)

7 p.m. today

The Coaches: Carbondale's Larry Gabriel (13-27, 4th year); Tunkhannock's Rod Azar (3-16, 2nd year)

Last Meeting: Tunkhannock 25-0 in 1964

All-Time Series: Tunkhannock leads 2-0-1

Quick Fact: Carbondale has never scored vs. Tunkhannock.

Scouting Carbondale: If there is an award for a hard-luck team in District 2, the Chargers would be the hands-down winner. Two one-point losses – 20-19 to GAR and 16-15 to Honesdale – cost Carbondale a spot in the D2-2A playoffs.

Still, Carbondale is playing for something, a possible spot in the Eastern Conference tournament. If the Chargers are to get there, they'll do it with their legs. They are a run-first team and that should bode well against Tunkhannock, which is allowing 248 yard per game on the ground.

Scouting Tunkhannock: There weren't many positives in Tunkhannock's 60-0 loss to Dallas last Friday. The Tigers allowed only 159 yards on the ground – their best effort since allowing 139 to Montrose in week three – but were shredded through the air for four TD passes.

The offense failed to score for the fourth time this season. Tunkhannock managed just 112 yards of offense and has been held to under 100 yards in two of its last four games.

What To Expect: Although Tunkhannock won't play as badly as last Friday, Carbondale has postseason riding on the game and won't let it end on someone else's terms.
