Maria Ann Ciechoski and Steven Matthew Ramiza were united in the sacrament of marriage on May 19, 2012, at St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Kevin P. Mulhern.


The bride is the daughter of Michael and Linda Ciechoski, Wilkes-Barre. She is the granddaughter of the late George and Mary Claire Brown, Wilkes-Barre, and the late Adam and Elsie Ciechoski, Lee Park.


The groom is the son of Anthony Pace and the late Theresa Ramiza Pace, Pittston Township, and the late Frank Ramiza. He is the grandson of Steven and Loretta Haluschak, Duryea; the late Frank Ramiza, Hughestown; and Ruth Tavella, Kingston.


The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose her long-time friend, Erin Wissmann, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Polacheck, Lauren Williams and Jan Nunemacher, all long-time friends of the bride, and Catherine Ramiza, sister-in-law of the groom. Flower girls were Kathryn and Camille Haluschak, cousins of the groom.


The groom chose his brother, Frank Ramiza, as his best man. Groomsmen were Brian Ciechoski and Adam Ciechoski, brothers of the bride, and Benjamin Pace and Thomas Pace, brothers of the groom.


Scriptural readings were done by Michele Haluschak and Mary Ann Carey, aunts of the groom, and Steven Haluschak Jr., uncle and godfather of the groom. Offertory gifts were presented by Marianne Brown, aunt and godmother of the bride, and Ruth Ramiza, aunt and godmother of the groom. Musical selections were performed by Meghan Lenahan, cousin of the bride.


The bride was honored by her bridesmaids, family and friends with a bridal shower at the Wyoming Valley Country Club, Hanover Township, hosted by her parents. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the father and godmother of the groom at Pasquale's Restaurant, Hanover Township. The parents of the bride hosted an evening cocktail hour and reception at the East Mountain Inn and Suites, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Duane Gavitt performed grace.


The bride is a 2001 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and a 2005 graduate of Wilkes University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Maria earned her Master of Science degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Scranton in 2009. She is employed as a vocational rehabilitation counselor by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.


The groom is a 2000 graduate of Seton Catholic High School and a 2004 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He is employed by Canadian Pacific Railway.


The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia. They reside in Kingston.
