FAIRVIEW TWP. – A husband and wife were flown to a local hospital early Tuesday morning after a fire ripped through their home.
Dave Hourigan, president of the Mountain Top Hose Co., said several crews from local fire departments were called to the couple's Pine Lane home around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday. He did not identify the homeowners.
The man and woman were flown to the burn center at Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown for treatment.
The homeowners are listed as Christian and Tracey Zero in the Luzerne County property tax database. A hospital employee said they were listed as patients, but she could provide no information on their condition Tuesday night.
Hourigan said the fire was contained to a bedroom in the home and extinguished quickly.
The couple have two teenage children who were not home at the time of the fire.
A fire marshal with state police at Hazleton was on scene to investigate the cause of the fire. State police said no information was available Tuesday night.
