Hazleton Area

7 p.m. today

The Coaches: Crestwood's Greg Myers (45-45, 7th year); Hazleton Area's Jim Drumheller (5-10, 2nd year)

Last Meeting: Crestwood 48-13 in 2011

All-Time Series: Hazleton Area leads 6-2

Quick Fact: Crestwood won last year for first time in series since 1985

Scouting Crestwood: The Comets are off to a great, albeit tenuous, start. They struggled last Friday before finally putting away Tunkhannock 27-20. They also have victories by one and two points.

The young offense is coming around, but has also hit some speed bumps. WR Kota Kishel, though, has been consistent and recorded his second 100-yard receiving game of the season. The defense has eight of its 10 turnovers in the last three games.

Scouting Hazleton Area: Consistency on offense has been a problem for Hazleton Area. In last Friday's 26-21 loss to Pittston Area, the Cougars turned over the ball five times and QB Julius Ward was sacked two times.

A bright spot was Hazleton Area nearly rallied with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. So the offense might be turning the corner sooner than later.

The defense has also had problems at times and allows a WVC-high 142.8 passing yards per game. The run defense is in the middle of the pack.

What To Expect: This game could be a lot closer than the records indicate if Hazleton Area gets some offensive production.
